Assigning MPC Signing Permissions

This article describes the procedures to be followed if you want grant MPC signing permissions to users other than the admin that enabled MPC in the environment.

Please note that the following procedure requires the involvement of 2 people - both the admin and personnel who is receiving the signing permissions. Also, both users will have to had installed the N Suite app on their iOS / Android device and logged in already.




Instructions


Step 1: Initiate the granting permission process (N Board on Desktop)

Note that this step is done by the admin. The user performing this step must match the following conditions:
- They are either set to either an Owner or Administrator as their role.
- They already hold MPC signing permissions (if you did the enablement step, this is assigned to you by default)
  • Under the member tab in your organization settings, find the user you wish to grant permission to. The three-dotted menu on the far right will show a Grant MPC Signing Permissions option.


If successful, the bottom right of the screen should show a green box that says MPC Signing Permissions Granted. The user you selected should show Pending User Acceptance, highlighted in orange.


Step 2: Accepting the Signing Permissions (N Suite app on mobile)

The following step is performed by the other user who is on the receiving end (Mary Jane in the screenshot above). They must accept the request before proceeding with any other steps.


  • Open the N Suite app on your mobile device, and tap Open on the in-app notification near the top that says Receiving your signing key. You may also tap the push notification on your mobile device.


  • Tap on Accept.


  • Tap on OK.


Step 3: Creating the Signing Key (N Suite app on mobile)


The following step is performed by the administrator (Bob Smith in the screenshot earlier) who is granting the permissions.
  • Open the N Suite app on your mobile device, and tap Open on the in-app notification near the top that says Create Key for Signing. You may also tap the push notification on your mobile device.


  • Tap on Next

  • Wait for a while until the screen changes (it may take a few minutes), as the screen for creating the Signing Key is displayed.

  • Tap on Next to exit the process


Step 4: Setting up the Signing Key署名鍵の設定 (N Suite app on mobile)

We now once again go back to the user who is on the receiving end (Mary Jane) for the following step.


  • Open the N Suite app on your mobile device, and tap Open on the in-app notification near the top that says Create Key for Signing. You may also tap the push notification on your mobile device.


  • Tap on Next.


  • Tap on Sign.


  • Enter the recovery passphrase of your choice, and tap on OK.


  • Re-enter the Passphrase you had set in the previous step, then tap OK

 

  • After securely storing your passphrase, read the disclaimer and tap the checkbox, then tap OK.

 


Step 5: Confirm that the Signing Permissions are granted (N Board on Desktop)

The following step is performed by the administrator (Bob Smith) who is granting the permissions.
  • Under the same tab where all the members are listed, confirm that the receiving user has a green check mark under MPC Signing. Congrats! The process is complete.
